2 T. oil
1 med. onion, chopped
1 - 15 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 c. white wine
1/4 t. thyme
piece of bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 lb sausage
1 c. cooked rice
2 T. parsley, chopped
1 egg
8 large cabbage leaves
grated cheese

Directions:
Directions:
To prepare sauce of first 7 ingreds.: Heat oil in skillet. Add onion and cook slightly. Add tom. sauce, wine, thyme, bay leaf and salt & pepper. Cover and simmer while you are preparing meat.
Mix together beef and sausage meat.
Add in rice, parsley, egg, salt and pepper.
In meantime parboil eight cabbage.
Roll meat in leaves and place in sauce.
