1 1/2 c. Blueberries
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp. butter
2/3 c. milk
2 scant c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Coat blueberries with flour and set aside.

Mix together ingredients, then stir in blueberries. Put in an 8" or 9"-pan that has been greased and floured. I use a 12" skillet with a dome lid that fits tightly to steam it in. Put about 1" of water, in bottom of skillet. Set in about a 1/2"-high rack. Put pudding on rack--cover tightly. Start on high and turn to simmer as soon as it starts to boil. Simmer 1 hour. Serve with milk and sugar. Can be made with any berry.

My grandmother, who lived near Purchase Line, PA, used to make this when I was a child. She sometimes made it with cherries. It has been a family favorite since.
