1 gallon sliced cucumbers
4 large onions, sliced
1 c. salt

Cover with water. Let stand overnight. Drain and drop in syrup made as follows:
1 qt. vinegar
1 qt. sugar
2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices

Directions:
Let syrup boil, then drop in cucumbers and onions. Let get hot, but not boil. Put in hot jars & seal.
