1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup bananas
1 1/2 Tbsp sweet or sour milk
2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 cup ground walnuts
1 tsp lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly; beat eggs until light. Add milk and lemon juice to bananas and combine with first mixture; add dry ingredients and nuts. Stir just enough to combine ingredients well. Do not beat. Bake in greased loaf pan at 350º for 45 minutes.
