4 lbs. lean spareribs
Salt (to taste)

Sauce:
1 cup vinegar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 small bay leaf
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. ketchup
1/2 tsp. pepper or Tabasco

Directions:

In a large pot, bring spareribs to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes until spareribs are just tender.

In a sauce pan, combine vinegar, brown sugar, salt, onion, garlic, bay leaf and Worcestershire. Simmer a few minutes then add ketchup and pepper or Tabasco.

Place spareribs in a roasting pan and pour sauce over to coat. Bake at 300º for two hours, basting with sauce occasionally. Check for tenderness. Broil last 5 minutes.
