Bottom layer:
1 c. crushed pretzels
1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. sugar

Middle layer:
8 oz. Cool Whip
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cu. sugar

Top layer:
1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
2 T. cornstarch

*Or use strawberry topping:
1 c. water
3 T. cornstarch
1 c. sugar
4 T. strawberry Jell-O
fresh or frozen strawberries

Directions:

Bottom layer:
Melt margarine, mix with sugar and pretzels and press into bottom of a dish.

Middle layer:
Beat until smooth and spread on top of pretzel mixture.

Top layer:
Heat until thickened. Spread on top of cream cheese mixture.

*Strawberry Version:
Cook water, sugar and cornstarch until clear. Add jello. Place berries on top of cream cheese layer and spoon mixture over berries. (This recipe is also used for making strawberry pie, just place berries in a baked pie shell and spoon mixture over the berries and chill.)
