4 c. thinly sliced apples 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. finely cut nuts
1 c. flour 3/4 c. sugar
1 egg 1/3 c. milk
3/4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. water 1/2 c. butter

CINNAMON SAUCE:
1/2 c. sugar dash of salt
2 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. water 2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions:
Directions:
Spread apples in bottom of greased deep pie plate and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Top apples with nuts. Mix remaining ingredients until smooth and pour over apples. Bake 325º for 1 hour. While cake bakes mix sauce ingredients and cook over low heat until thick. Serve warm over warm cake.
