1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. lard, oleo or butter
1/2 c. sorghum or molasses
4 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
3 tsp. soda dissolved in 4 T. hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll into 1.5 inch balls and dip into sugar. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake about 10-12 minutes. DO NOT flatten. Take out a bit before they look done. They will flatten as they are cooling.
