Directions:
Cream margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Sift together flour soda and cream of tarter. Stir slowly into creamed mixture to make a smooth dough. Chill thoroughly. Pinch off dough into about 3/4 in. balls. Place 1-1/2 in. apart on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with a fork or thumb (thumb does best). Bake in slow oven, 325º 12-15 min. Makes 6 dozen. Note: Are especially nice for Christmas when sprinkled lightly with red or green sugar just before baking.
