Personal Notes:
Monroe Herring has been a real blessing to ELCMA. He retired young and volunteered for many a committee of ELCMA. It meant a great deal of traveling, but he was always willing, even eager, to go. Now, Monroe is a diabetic. Carolyn, put him on a strict diet. So every chance he got, he would slip away and eat what he had been denied on this strict diet. Then he would return home and Carolyn would have him back on track in no time. He was able to pass the blood tests, keeping his glucose numbers at or near 100. And all was fine until the doctor switched him to the new AC1 level testing and his jig was up. Monroe must have said this before the new testing, “Leftover Twinkies should be disposed of properly – don’t let the kids see you eating all of them.” Well, he should know.
