2 cups of Sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 cup Corn Syrup
2 cups Raw Peanuts
2 tsp. Baking Soda

Directions:
Directions:
Boil and stir sugar, syrup and water until it thickens a little (230º), add butter, peanuts, and stir constantly until nuts begin to brown (300º). Remove from fire, add vanilla and soda. Stir quickly and turn out onto greased jelly roll pan. As soon as edges cool, run knife under the candy to loosen as it cools, continue until candy is cooled. When candy is completely cooled, break into pieces.

My mom had a special skillet just for making peanut brittle every Christmas. Mom's only problem was making the peanut brittle before Dad would eat the peanuts.
