1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar, divided
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 2/3 cups flour
zest of 1 lemon, grated
juice of 1 lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients but reserve the lemon juice and 1/2 cup of the sugar in a small bowl. Put batter into a bread pan that has been prepared with baking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Mix the reserved lemon juice and remaining sugar. Leave bread in pan and pour lemon juice mixture over loaf. Let bread cool in pan.
