1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp butter flavor (sold near vanilla in seasonings)
1 1/2 oz bottle red color
3 Tbsp Cocoa
1 1/2 cup cake flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 tsp soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, flavors. Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring; add to first mixture. Alternately add flour and buttermilk. Mix soda, salt and vinegar in small bowl and add to batter. Blend. Bake in 3 9 inch or 10 inch round pans, for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees
