1 lb. short or long pasta (penne works well)
¼ cup olive oil
¼ cup butter
3 or 4 garlic cloves, crushed
½ t red pepper flakes
4 cups broccoli florets
½ cup Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to directions on package. In a small pan heat oil, butter, garlic and red pepper then set aside. Be careful not to brown garlic. When pasta is almost done (al dente) drop in broccoli and cook approximately one or two minutes.

Remove ½ cup of water to use if pasta is too dry; set aside. Drain pasta and pour in serving bowl. Add oil mixture and toss. Add extra seasoning and pasta water, if needed.

Serve immediately.
