1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/c cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups rice crispies
1 3-1/2 oz can of chopped coconut
1 cup dates chopped

Directions:

1. Preheat over to 350ºF - Stir together flour, soda, baking powder, and salt

2. Beat the butter, add sugar, whisk and add in the egg and vanilla to butter mixture

3. Beat all ingredients well and then add in the dry ingredients to the egg/butter mixture - beat well.

4. Add cereal, coconut, and dates - mixing mixture well again.

5. Drop a spoon full of mixture onto greased cooking sheet and bake at 350ºF for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown

6. take from oven and cool on waxed paper or oven racks - can be served warm or cold

I found this recipe in an old cookbook on a loose piece of paper that I believe belonged to my grandmother Viola Jost - I belive it is in her handwritting - they are excellent cookies!
