Personal Notes:
This recipe is from Aunt Jennie Hilmen Pederson of Sioux City, Iowa, Grandma Fossum remembers her sister, Mary Soiset, also from Sioux City, visiting often on the Hovrud farm. Mary, Mrs Ole Soiset, was Grandma Fossum's Godmother. Jennie and Mary were sisters to Knudt Hilmen. Grandma Fossum has told me often that both sisters were with the family on the Hovrud farm when Great Grandmother Ragnild Hilmen died at sunset August 8, 1929. Grandma Clara had all these little children, a sick mother in bed, but the stove in the kitchen was always warm and loving....memories from Mildred.
