1 3/4 cups sifted flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
5 unbeaten egg yolks

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Grease loaf pan 9X5X2. Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Add shortening, butter, milk, vanilla, egg yolks. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed on mixer or 300 strokes by hand. Scrape bottom and sides of bowl constantly. Bake 60 to 70 minutes.
