1 cup bran
1 cup rolled oats
3 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups white flour
1 cup lard
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
3 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Work the dry ingredients with the lard like you would a pie crust. Add the buttermilk. Roll out on floured surface. Use lots of flour if it sticks. Bake on pizza stone in the oven or place foil over the oven rack and bake on that. Flip once to brown both sides.
Bake at 375º
Use a bumpy rolling pin if you have one. Roll quite thin. The bumps on the rolling pin should almost come through to your counter top.

If you want the pieces to look more even you can cut the rounds with a pizza cutter after you do the first flip.
