1 chicken
1 tbsp. salt
1 medium onion, diced
1 tbsp. black pepper

Dumpling Dough

2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Cut up chicken and boil with salt, onion and pepper. Cook until tender, remove bones.

Make Dumpling Dough:

MIx dumpling ingredients well; knead dough on floured board and roll out in strip; Place a few dumplings in pot ( don't stir, dumplings will break up). Let cook 2 or 3 minutes before adding more dumplings. Cover and let steam. Watch while cooking to prevent sticking.
