6 large tart apples, peeled and sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice, optional
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp dried tapioca pearls
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp butter
Pie crust (either homemade or Pillsbury store bought)

Directions:

Mix first 7 ingredients and place in a deep dish pie crust. Dot with butter. Cover with second pie crust. Brush pie crust with milk and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 400º for about an hour
