2-1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cups brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 large eggs
1 pkg. (12-oz) Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup uncooked quick-cooking oats

Heat oven to 375º. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. In a larger bowl beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Gradually beat in flour mixture with oats. Stir in chocolate chips. Using a medium scoop, drop onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9-11 minutes until golden brown. Cool on baking sheet 1-2 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool.

Personally, I've never been able to confirm that this recipe makes 5 dozen! With boys who LOVE cookie dough, we never get that many out of this recipe. And, even when I bake them up, they are gone before I can count them!

Also, to save time, you can spread all the dough into a greased 15x10 jelly-roll pan and bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cut them into squares when they are cool.
