2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup nuts
2 cups finely cut up dates

Directions:
Directions:
Beat 2 eggs until foamy and beat in 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Sift together and stir in 1/2 cup sifted flour, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt. Mix in 1 cup nuts and 2 cups finely cut up dates.

Spread in well greased 8-inch square pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes in a 325º oven until top has a dull crust. Cut into squares wile warm. Cool and then remove from pan. If desired, dip in confectioner's sugar.

This recipe is from Aunt Mitzi's 1959 St. Patrick's Mother's Club Cookbook in Corpus Christi. She gave me this cookbook when I went to take care of her a few years ago. This recipe is in this cookbook under her name.
