8 T butter
1 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cup milk
2 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 cups (or more) diced pears.

Directions:
Directions:
Cut butter into chunks and melt in 9x13 pan as the oven is heating to 350º.
Whisk dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add milk and vanilla and whisk until smooth. Pour batter over the hot butter, mix in slightly, top with pears. Bake 45 minutes or until top is browned and a toothpick comes out clean.

Serve hot with ice cream or whipped cream or home canned peaches for a delectable treat.
