Ingredients:  
Wash & Slice enough cucumbers to fill a quart jar.

Add:
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. alum
1 tsp. pickling spices

Directions:
Directions:
Pour vinegar to fill jar and seal. (Do not use white vinegar). Store for 2 months on pantry shelf or longer. Drain vinegar and place cucumbers in plastic bowl. Pour 2 cups sugar per quart over cucumbers. Leave open for 2 days. Stir occasionally to dissolve. Put back in jar and refrigerate.
