1 stewing chicken
2 quarts of water
2 tbsp of chicken base
3 stalks of celery cut into bite size chunks
1 medium spanish onion, cut
2 carrots, peeled and cut
1 tbsp of fresh chopped parsley
2 cups of original Bisquick
2/3 cup of milk
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Bring chicken to boil in stock with celery, onion and carrot. reduce to simmering boil for 20 minutes, until the chicken is done. Add salt and pepper to season. Mix Bisquick and milk in mixing bowl till dough is formed. Drop by spoonful's into boiling stew, cook uncovered 10 minutes, cook covered 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to tasted, garnish with fresh parsley.

Serve with mashed potatoes.

If in a hurry, add a couple of cut potatoes in with the chicken at the beginning.

I do not know if it was the mischief that Mary Ellen and I used to get into on those long summer days I spent in Fayetteville visiting, that brought on such an appetite or Aunt Ann's good ole southern cooking that just makes my mouth water for such great comfort food, but this is one recipe that both my children and customers love to enjoy.
