1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tbsp water
1 1/2 tsp orange peel
1/8 tsp almond extract
1 1/4 cups flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
FROSTING:
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp butter, softened
1 1/2 tbsp orange juice

Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the orange juice, water, orange peel and almond extract. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to the creamed mixture. Beat for 2 minutes. Pour into a greased 8 in. square baking dish. Bake at 350 º for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Remove to wire rack.
Make frosting by combining powdered sugar, butter and enough orange juice to achieve spreading consistency. May tint icing orange if desired. Frost while cake is still a little warm.
