1/3 cup Crisco
1/3 cup margarine
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
6 ounce package chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, margarine, & sugars; add eggs & vanilla and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, & salt and add to creamed mixture. Next add the chocolate chips and stir. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet @ 375° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. This was Grandma Blake’s recipe.
