2 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp ground Ginger
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup margarine,softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp water
1/4 cup molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Sift together flour, ginger,baking soda,cinnamon,cloves and salt.
Cream together margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg then stir in water and molasses. Gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the molasses mixture. Shape into walnut sized balls. Place the cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten slightly.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 5 minutes before removingnto wire rack to cool completely.
