2 lbs. strawberries (or enough to fill 9" pie shell)

Crust ingredients:
1 Stick melted butter
1 c flour
dash salt
1 T. sugar

Pie Filling Ingredients:
1/2 -1 c sugar depending on sweetness of berries
3 T cornstarch
1 c water
1 small strawberry jello
1 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix crust ingredients together in small bowl and pat into 9" pie pan. Prick with fork Bake 375º until golden brown. Set to cool.
2. Filling. Mix water, sugar and corn starch until it starts to boil and turn clear. Add jello and stir until dissolved, add butter and stir until mixed through.
3. Fill cooled crust with whole strawberries and pour jello mixture over them. Chill until cool and jello is set. I add whipped cream before serving.

If I have large berries I cut them in half and pour the sauce over them in a bowl and gently mix to coat all berries. I let the cool for half hour before putting in the crust in case the cut berries release too much juice I can stir it into the sauce and crust won't get soggy.
