18 C grease, melted
10 C water
2 boxes lye
1 C borax
2 Tbsp ammonia or clorox

Directions:
Directions:
Put lye in hot water and let stand to cool. Add grease and stir ten minutes. Add remaining ingredients and cook slowly until all is dissolved. Be careful not to splash yourself as this is a potent mixture. (Mother cooked this outside on a barbecue) Cool in large flat pans. When set, cut into squares and save. You can shave off pieces of the soap and add to your laundry.
