1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup lukewarm milk
1 large beaten egg
1 cake yeast
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
6 tablespoons melted butter
Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, shortening, salt, and lukewarm milk together until shortening is dissolved. Then add beaten egg and one cake yeast stirring well. Add flour and nutmeg, beat 100 strokes with a wooden spoon. Cover and raise until double. Beat 30 strokes. Drop by spoonfuls into greased muffin tins. Raise until light. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Loosen immediately and dip into 6 tablespoons of melted butter and then the topping of sugar and cinnamon. To reheat place on cookie sheet in a 200 degree oven until warm.
