12 slices white bread
1 lb pork sausage
1/4 c. butter
4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
20 eggs (yes, 20)
1 c. milk
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Brown & drain pork sausage, set aside. Lightly butter one side of each bread slice. Layer the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan with half the bread slices, butter side down, cut to fit if need be. Spread half the sausage over the bread and top with half the cheese. Layer the reamining bread on top, and top with the remaining sausage.

Blend eggs, milk, salt & pepper together and pour slowly over casserole, tilt and tip pan to distribute eggs mixture and moisten all bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight (12 hours is ideal).

Preheat oven to 325º. Bake uncovered for about 1 1/4 hours, then sprinkle remain cheese and bake another 15 minutes. Lest rest about 10 minutes before serving.
