I large can whole peeled tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
1 3/4 tsp. basil
2-3 cloves garlic
olive oil
1-2 tsp. crushed red pepper
2-3 tbsp. butter
a pinch or two of baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Crush tomatoes in large sauce pan add tomato sauce, tomato paste and basil. In small fry pan add 2 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil and brown garlic cloves being careful not to burn them add red pepper and 2 tbsp. butter melting butter but not browning it. Pour over sauce and add a pinch or two of baking soda. Cook over low heat for a few hours. Stir occasionally

This was a favorite of the Cadoro and Risso family it has been passed down many generations. You can cook whatever pasta you like, but they liked rigatoni. They also added cooked pigs feet to the sauce, chicken or Italian sausage. Very good and spicy.
