3/4 cup shortening
3 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
3 eggs
1 tsp allspice
6 tsp soda
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 lbs raisins ground
8 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve 6 tsp soda in 1/2 cup water. Mix all of the ingredients together.
The dough will be stiff dough but chill if necessary.
Roll and cut as with sugar cookies.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Dip pastry brush in water and go lightly over cookies.
Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 till light molasses color
