2 lbs. lean cubed stew meat
1 c. celery (chopped)
6 medium carrots (sliced)
3 cans Italian style stewed tomatoes
3 medium onions
1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs
5 cubed potatoes
3 T. tapioca
1 tsp. salt
For dumplings:
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
2 T. melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Put all stew ingredients in large, heavy dutch oven in the order listed (meat on bottom, tapioca and salt on top). Cover with foil and bake 5-6 hours at 250º.
For dumplings, mix all ingredients and drop by tablespoons into dutch oven. Put lid on quickly and return to oven for additional 25 minutes.
