Mama's Hot Water Cornbread Recipe

2 cups yellow cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp Crisco cooking oil
boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Pour just enough boiling water over cornmeal, salt and oil to make a mush Shape into medium size (plump) ovals. Drop carefully into deep hot, grease. Fry until done. about 1 1/2 minutes on each side.

Mouth-watering delicious! Great with peas or beans or just by themselves. Butter is optional!
