1 tsp vanilla
1 (2-layer) packaged cake mix

Directions:
Mix ingredients together in mixing bowl adding half of cake mix. Add remainder of cake mix and mix by hand until smooth. Drop cookie dough by rounded teaspoons about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375º 10 to 12 minutes or until bottoms begin to brown. (Centers will be soft.) Let cookies cool briefly before transferring to racks.

Variations: To make chocolate chip cookies, add 1 (6-oz) package semisweet chocolate pieces to dough when you add second half of cake mix. For other additions, when you stir in second half of cake mix, add 1/2 to 3/4 cup of chopped nuts, shredded coconuts or raisins.
