1/4 c. mashed potato 3 eggs-beaten
1 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. milk (warm) 3 tbsp. dry yeast
1 tbsp. salt flour - to make a soft dough-not sticky

GLAZE:
boiled water powder sugar
vanilla or maple flavoring dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together potato, beaten eggs, shortening and sugar. Add warm milk, yeast, salt and flour. Dough should be soft, but not sticky. Roll a 1/2 inch thick on a lightly floured surface, cut, and let rise to double. Fry in hot oil. Doughnuts will be golden brown. Glaze: Boil water, add powder sugar, mixing so there are no lumps, add flavoring and salt. Keep adding powder sugar until desired thickness of glaze is made.
