2 c. elbow macaroni
3 c. cubed cooked chicken
1/2 c. shredded cheese
1 sm onion chopped(optional)
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped gr. pepper(optional)
1-8 oz. can water chestnuts(drained)
1 can cream chicken soup
1 can cream mushroom(optional)
1 1/3 c. milk
1 can chicken broth
1/4 c. marg.(melted)
25 crushed crackers
3/4-1c. cashews

Directions:
(Grease a 9x13 pan) & layer first 7 ingredients.
(In bowl) Mix the soups, milk, and broth together. Pour over casserole slightly lifting in spots to allow to get to bottom.
( This casserole can be refrigerate over night @ this time.)
Topping:Mix melted marg. and crackers together, sprinkle crumbs on top of casserole.Add cashews if like.
Bake uncovered @ 350 º for 45 mins-1 hr

Something one can make ahead that is easy.If making up ahead I sometimes add a little water or milk in spots so it doesn't get too dry, or just check closer to cooking time if you don't.
