1 quart buttermilk, warmed but not hot
1 c. potato water or plain will do
2 yeast cakes (= 2 tablespoons), dissolved in 1/4 c. water
2 t. soda
3 T. shortening or oil
3 T. sugar
2 T. salt
2 beaten eggs
7 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ingredients, beat well. Add flour until it is as stiff as you prefer. Cover, let raise until double its bulk. Turn, mold into ball again, let rest covered with cloth for 15 minutes. Cut into 4 loaves (I make large pan rolls and 2 loaves).
