1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1/3 seeded Raisins
1 egg
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 3/4 cup sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. all spice
1 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar and gradually add raisins. Beat eggs until light add mild and mix well. Add applesauce, and sifted dry ingredients. Mix well and add nuts. Bake 350º F for 35-45 min in 2-8 inch pans or a 9x13 inch pan. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
