3/4 c. shortening,
1 cup brown sugar,
1 cup granulated sugar,
1 egg,
1/4 cup water,
1 tsp. vanilla,
1 cup flour,
1 tsp. salt,
1/2 tsp. soda
3 cups oats

Directions:
Directions:
Mix thoroughly shortening, egg, sugars, water & vanilla. Combine flour, salt & soda, add to shortening mixture & mix well. Blend in oats & drop by tsp. onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven (350º) 12 to 15 minutes

After retiring from The Pribyl Brothers Garage, Bob starting baking these cookies for something to do to keep busy. After visiting, he would send several dozen home, and sold quite a few around town.
