Dumplings:
2 Tbsp. Granulated Sugar
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
8oz. can refrigerated Crescent Rolls
1 large Granny Smith Apple, peeled and cut into 8 wedges
Sauce:
1/2 C. Granulated Sugar
1/2 C. Whipping Cream
1 Tbsp. Almond Extract
1 Egg
Topping:
1/2 C. Sliced Almonds
Ground Cinnamon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º
Dumplings:
In a small bowl, combine Sugar with Cinnamon, mix well. Separate dough into 8 triangles. Sprinkle dough with the Cinnamon-Sugar mixture. Gently press Cinnamon-Sugar mixture into dough, flattening each triangle slightly. Place 1 Apple slice on the shortest side of each triangle, tuck in edges so you can roll up and seal edges. Place in a pie pan.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Sauce:
Whip all ingredients for sauce together. Pour sauce over Apples. Sprinkle with the Almonds and Ground Cinnamon. Return to the oven for an additional 13-15 minutes.

Dumplings can be assembled the night before and refrigerated. The Sauce can be made the night before, heat sauce before placing on the dumplings.
