2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour,sifted.
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 cup of butter ( 2 sticks) softened
3/4 cups of granulated sugar
3/4 cup of brown sugar (dark)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12 oz pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup of chopped nuts

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375º F.
Combine the flour,baking soda,salt,cinnamon,nutmeg,clove,and ginger in a small bowl.
in a large mixer bowl beat butter,vanilla and sugars until creamed. Add eggs 'one at a time beating well after each addition, gradually add flour and spices,salt and soda from the other bowl. Stir in the chips and the nuts gently.
Drop by rounded spoonfuls(not too big), onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 9-11 minutes on the middle shelf until golden brown. Let sit on baking sheet for 2 minutes when removed from the oven;then transfer to wire cooling racks until completely cooled. Store in air tight containers;should be crispy.
