Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 c. grits
1 ½ qt. of water
2 rolls garlic cheese, diced
1 stick butter
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Add grits to boiling water and cook according to directions.

Add cheese and butter. Mix eggs and milk together and add to mixture.

Pour into greased 8 inch square baking dish. Add corn flake crumbs to top and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

If you cannot find garlic cheese, substitute 6 ounces (1 1/2 cups) grated Cheddar cheese and add 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt.

Refrigerate any leftover grits on a cookie sheet or in a square flat casserole dish. The next day you can cut time into strips about 2’ by 4’ and fry them in a skillet with a little butter. Sometimes my mother would dip the strips in beaten egg and then flour before placing in skillet.

Personal Notes:
The first time I made this was in 1968 for a midnight breakfast after a company function. It is great with any type of meal or buffet.

Kraft no longer makes the Garlic Cheese Roll. People have complained but it fell on deaf ears. I found a place called Parkers Farm that makes it. They are located at www.parkersfarm.com
