4 T. melted butter
¼ c. flour
2 c. liquid (asparagus juice & milk)
1 chopped pimiento, optional
salt and pepper to taste
1 c. grated cheese
1 c. asparagus (or 1 lb. can)
buttered bread crumbs or cracker crumbs
4 hard-cooked eggs, sliced or chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Make a white sauce of flour, butter, salt, pepper, and liquid. in buttered baking dish (about 1¾ qt. size), put a layer of crumbs, asparagus, eggs, sauce, cheese alternately; repeat layers and add pimiento. Dot with butter and bake at 325º for 15-20 minutes.
