1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 3/4 c. milk
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Sieve the flour into a bowl and add butter. Bread down the butter with your hands into the flour until all the lumps are gone. Raise your hands occasionally and try and keep the mixture cool by mixing lightly. If you mix heavy your scones will be heavy.
Add the sultanas and sugar to dry ingredients. Crack the egg into half the milk and whisk lightly. Pour into dry ingredients and with and open claw like hand mix slowly from the outside to middle. Gradually add remaining milk until all dry mix is wet.
Knead the wet mixture on a lightly floured board and cut scones to whatever size you prefer.
Place on baking try and glaze with milk and sprinkle with sugar if you like a little crunch. Bake at 350º for about 20 minutes. Leave on wire rack to cool then enjoy!
