Ingredients:
1 lb. real butter (salted)
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts
12 oz. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Put butter, sugar, and salt in a heavy skillet. Cook on medium-high heat to hard crack* stage. Add nuts. Pour onto a lightly buttered cookie sheet (with sides). Melt chocolate chips and spread on top. Cool and break into pieces.

* At the "hard crack" stage, mixture will turn brown and tends to stick to bottom of pan. Drop a "string" of syrup into a cup of cold water. If the string cracks or breaks, the candy is ready. Another test is to take the test "string" out of the cold water and tap it on the side of the cup. If it is hard enough to tap, it is done.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I make this every year at Christmas and cook the candy in a 10" cast iron skillet.
