1/4 C. oil or margarine
2 onions, chopped
2 (or more) cloves garlic, minced
1 green pepper, diced
2 T. flour
2 1/2 C. cooked, chopped tomatoes
2 C. cooked okra, or 1 1/2 c. frozen okra
2/3 C. tomato paste
3 C. broth or stock
1 1/2 T. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. chili powder
pinch dried basil
1 bay leaf
1/3 C. parsley
2-3 C. cooked chicken, diced

Directions:
Saute onions, garlic and green pepper with oil in large heavy skillet (or soup pot). Blend in flour and cook and stir over heat until vegetables are tender. Add tomatoes, okra, tomato paste, broth or stock, salt, pepper, Worcestershire, gloves, chili powder, basil and bay leaf. Simmer 1 hour. Prepare cooked rice. Chop and add parsley. Add chicken or turkey. Simmer briefly. Serve over rice in bowl.

I don't add that much salt, but do add more pepper, chili powder and also sprinkle red pepper flakes into the soup. I use canned chicken/turkey from Costco and it tastes great!
