1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 cups dry oatmeal
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 – 6oz. semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar and light brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Beat until well blended. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in oatmeal, pecans, and chocolate morsels. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350*
